Demonstrations for Schools
Tudor Times offer a unique experience for Primary, Junior and Special School pupils to aid them in their study of the Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum on Tudor History .
Our presentations are fully cross curricular. With the new emphasis on English, Maths and Science we have designed our presentations to use all these skills within the study of Tudor History.
The Commonplace Book is a device which allows the pupils to practise their English by reading passages related to our presentations and then to answer questions. It also allows them to write about their recollections of our presentations and workshops. If students have attended different workshops they can tell their class mates about their experiences
allowing them to use spoken English.
The Renaissance, which occurred in Tudor times, brought out new ways of thinking. Old assumptions were challenged and new discoveries were made. The empiricism of this period was the first glimmer of the development of the scientific method of observations assisting theories. Many of our presentations include some scientific content.
Applied Mathematics feature in some of our workshops and activities
leading up to the Tudor Market.
Other subjects covered are technology in the preparation of food and manufacture and care of textiles and clothes. Geography features in the exploration and colonization workshop. Physical education is expressed by our dance workshop and our "manly" games
and the arts are represented by music and drawing and colouring pictures.
Our re-creators will come fully equipped with Tudor artifacts and talk about Tudor Times from the point of view of the ordinary man and woman. We have a series of presentations where we explain the artefacts and a series of workshops where the children make things
as they were in Tudor times.
Our staff have many years experience in teaching at all levels and have full clearance to work with your children.
We have a range of packages to suit your requirements:
- Tudor menfolk - One person for one day
- Tudor Couple - Two people for one day
- A Tudor Festival - two people for two days.
Each of these packages contain a range of workshops and presentations.
