The Common-place Book

In Tudor times the Commonplace Book was where you recorded those things that you especially wanted to remember. Probably an early form of filofax!

At Tudor Times the Commonplace-book also serves the same purpose in that the children may recall our visit through this "rembrancer".

The book is the centre part of the use of English during our visit. There are sections in the book where the children will answer questions. There are blanks in the book where children will write their recollections of our activities.

The physical preparation of the book represents technology - printing and bookbinding.

Illustrations in the book allow the children to see more Tudor artefacts such as pictures of towns, maps and buildings that we cannot bring within the school. It allows them to colour in certain pages thus bringing art within our presentation.
